INCA findings in the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza
Gazeta Wyborcza, one of Poland’s largest and most influential newspapers, has published an article on working conditions and trade unions at Amazon, drawing on insights from INCA researchers at the University of Wrocław.
Journalist Kasia Bielecka interviewed researchers Olga Gitkiewicz, Adam Mrozowicki, and Szymon Pilch, who presented key findings from Work Package 5 of the INCA project on labor relations and workers’ struggles at Amazon.
The article, published on both Gazeta Wyborcza’s digital portal and in its print edition, is titled “’Give your best’. How Amazon turned a scanner into a boss.” (“Daj z siebie wszystko”. Jak Amazon zmienił skaner w szefa). Among the contributions and findings of INCA researchers, the article highlights the ideas of dehumanisation, lack of transparency, challenges for trade unions, and regulatory gaps linked to the platformisation of work.
