Urbasofia is a town and regional planning company created in 2011 which provides European-wide expertise for urban development, policy design and territorial cohesion. They conduct high-level academic research, applied studies and the implementation of concrete solutions aiming at a more integrated, participatory, realistic and smart-oriented approach to pressing urban problems, both socioeconomic, as well as environmental.
Leveraging European structural funding for urban innovation, we support urban authorities to meet actual urban problems with the right tools and fitting flagship projects and piloting actions. The company is concretely working within an urban regeneration environment, placemaking approaches for urban revitalization and development, mobility-related topics, as well as governance frameworks for collaborative actions of multiple actors, supporting cities in embedding innovative solutions through urban planning.

Dr. Pietro Elisei
Pietro Elisei is a town and regional planner, senior researcher and policymaker. He is the founder and managing director of Urbasofia.

Pietro has collaborated, as a consultant, with ministries, cities and towns all over Europe, holding important positions in international organizations dedicated to urban planning (PLANUM, ISOCARP).
International expert in urban regeneration policies, integrated planning for small-medium sized cities and topics related to smart cities. A collaborator with EU universities and research centres, he works with international institutions (European Commission: URBACT and UIA Secretariats, UN-Habitat, UNECE) for important planning research. Dr Elisei also routinely holds keynote speeches at international conferences and publishes a number of scientific articles on topics related to urban planning.
Laurine Duivon
Laurine Duivon is an urban planner and designer, with a master’s degree from the Urban Planning Institute of Lyon (France) in Urban Planning and Development with a specialisation in management and design.
