INCA Exhibition makes its second stop in Lugano with new features
From October 30 to November 22, the INCA Exhibition on the materiality of data will be in Lugano at Limonaia di Villa Saroli.
After its stop in Bologna (Italy), it now travels to Switzerland, offering an enriched and rethought experience. Under the name “Virtualità Materiali”, the works of EXTENTS (McClain Clutter & Cyrus Peñarroyo), Morgane Billuart, Rául Silva, and soju.studio will be on display again, and this second edition will also include contributions from the work of Omar Tigrini.
Six art and research installations will guide visitors through the invisible physicality of the digital—between silicon beaches and work tents, conceptual tables, and visual experiences. The exhibition will allow audiences to understand and explore the world made of raw materials, energy, and people that lies behind the seemingly immaterial economy projected by digital platforms, algorithms, and artificial intelligence.
In dialogue with the exhibition, a program of four public events will expand and deepen the themes of Virtualità Materiali, offering opportunities for discussion at the intersection of art, technology, and society. These activities will include presentations, roundtables, and workshops, creating a forum for reflection and discussion while sharing further artistic and educational initiatives.
If you are nearby, don’t hesitate to drop by. Access to both the exhibition and the public events is free.
This exhibition, which is part of the INCA project, is organized in collaboration with Stiftung Mercator, SUPSI, i2a, and Big Tech Watch – Think Tank. It is curated by the INCA member Niccolò Cuppini (SUPSI) and Miryam Pol (USI SUPSInido), and is based on a project by Carmen Lael Hines & Into the Black Box (Niccolò Cuppini, Mattia Frapporti, Maurilio Pirone).
