Engaging exchange at the “Promiscuous Approaches to Digital Spatiality” talk in Bologna
On 1 October 2025, the talk Promiscuous Approaches to Digital Spatiality took place at Sala Verde, Palazzo d’Accursio, Bologna, as part of the programme of activities accompanying the INCA exhibition Data Materialities, open from 20 September to 12 October in the nearby Sala d’Ercole.
This first talk in the series featured the project The Ghost Platform, led by Benjamin Gerdes, in dialogue with Letizia Chiappini from the collective Slutty Urbanism. Together, they explored the political implications underlying the aesthetics of logistics, addressing topics such as data production as labour, the extraction of urban resources presented as “improvement” for citizens, and the potential of “promiscuous” and “slutty” approaches to visualising digital capitalism’s infrastructures. The open format created space for thoughtful comments and questions from the audience, showing keen interest in the issues raised by the speakers.
The talk, held in English, was promoted within the framework of the INCA project, carried out by the University of Bologna in collaboration with Fondazione IU Rusconi Ghigi and Big Tech Watch Think Tank.
